My Favorite Rappers

Most people who don’t know me are surprised when they find out how much I know about rap. I am a huge rap fanatic, and I can school just about anyone when it come to the hip hop. When I was growing up, I use to listen to a lot of old school rappers because of my older brother Aaron. He introduced me into the world of hip hop, and I thank him almost every day for that. I grew up listening to mostly old school rappers, but as I got a little bit older, I started listening to many different types of rappers including some current rappers. Out of all the different rappers I’ve listened to over the years, I came up with a list of my to 10 favorites. Check them out:

The actor/ rapper Ice Cube is from South Central Los Angeles. He first came into the rap game with a rap group called N.W.A; you may have heard of their mover call Straight Outta Compton. Ice Cube was one of the most influential rappers of his time. He was also one of the coldest rappers the rap game has ever seen, hence the name “Ice Cube.”Jay-Z

9) Jay-Z

Jay-Z also known as the King of New York is one of the most successful rappers of all time. Jay-Z was the first rapper ever to sell over one million records with his own record label Roc-a-Fella.

8) LL Cool Jimages

“Ladies Love Cool James” was my first hip hop crush when I was in the 8th grade. My favorite song of all time by him is I need Love.

7) Lil Waynee4d00909

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., better known by his stage name Lil Wayne, is from New Orleans, Louisiana. Lil Wayne has been in the hip-hop world since he was a teenager. He got started when he was young, so that gave him a foot up on the competition. Now a days, Lil Wayne is known as one of the moguls of the rap game.

Dom Kennedy is from Los Angeles, California. Kennedy released his debut mixtape album 25th Hour in 2008, instantly producing a buzz throughout the south side of L.A. The song Watermelon Sundae immediately went viral off of the mixtape. He is known for his laid-back flow, wordplay and unique storytelling.

Shy Glizzy came into the rap game in 2012 with the release of his mixtape called Law. The rapper quickly caught the attention of rap fans across the country, including mines.

Young Scooter is originally from South Carolina. Young Scooter in the Father of Count Music. He came into the rap game with a new style started a whole new rap category.

Originally from Mississippi, the Miami-based rapper Rick Ross is one of the pioneers of the rap community in Miami. In his early years as a rapper he was at Suave House Records, Rick Ross made his debut under the name Teflon Da Don. He is well respected in Miami in the streets because of who he is and graduating from Miami Carol City Senior High School also help him.

Gucci Mane also known as Guwop is the best rapper from Atlanta if you ask me.

A hip-hop legend, with explicit and controversial lyrics, Tupac Shakur was the most popular rappers of his time. Shakur moved to California and established himself as a dancer and rapper. The dancer part may surprise some people but Tupac was a man of many talents.
